I agree with OP and made the same criticism in the past. I don't like playing with consummables this is not the way I like RTS. athens quests and well of urn quest were too much for me and I am a well seasonned aoe / aom player. I cant imagine how the beginners feels in this.

A seasoned RTS player should not have an issue with any of the Well of Urd quests - Most Well of Urd quests consist of water-based maps, which are easy, and simple walling tactics will get you through on the others.

Athens IS a pain, especially the first 4 Incursion quests, which are quite enraging.

But Well of Urd? Fairly straightforward, just wall chokepoints or go with early docks.
