Indian Dev Blog #8: Gatherer Elephant, Fortress, Age 3/4 Town Center, Gear Progression and more!

So I was seeing some chatter on the discord about the Elephant Gatherer's efficiency vs Villagers, but a bigger question in PvE is their efficiency vs Caravans. As I have mentioned multiple times, Caravans have significantly higher gold generation compared to villagers in PvE - So high, in...

Aqueduct's Health regen does not apply to Wood-Gathering Elephants

Aqueduct's health boost is applying to Wood Gathering Elephants, but the regen boost is not. Elephants acquire 720 total health with Aqueducts, boosted to 1080 with Loom. However the 3 health/second regen is not applied to them. Elephants benefit from everything else that benefit Villagers with...

Indian Dev Blog #8: Gatherer Elephant, Fortress, Age 3/4 Town Center, Gear Progression and more!

Hrmm. I don't know why I was under the impression that the Indian Elephant Gatherer would scale with Villager techs and advisors, akin to how Wood Gathering Elephants of the Empire do (They scale with every villager tech as well as every villager advisor)

Developer Update 2021/04/01 (Advisor Upgrades, New Advisor Units, New In-game Currency, and more!)

That actually might be a way to get more players into PvP - You can use Sparta points to ensure that a roll does NOT get worse.

Developer Update 2021/04/01 (Advisor Upgrades, New Advisor Units, New In-game Currency, and more!)

No mix of truth in this - I hope anyway. With that said, that's a good amount of work put into the Roman Advisor units - scrapped units that didn't make it into the Roman Roster?

    2022 Survey #1 Results!

Hrmm, while it's in the category of "knowledge never to be known", I wonder how many players with the other AOE games are younger or have been playing the series for most of their lives? Attracting new players is fairly important, so only having 10% "new" growth, players who didn't play the og...

Indian Dev Blog #7: Age 1 and 2 Town Center, Villagers, Bowman & Ranger Gear Progression, and more!

Another question regarding India Villagers - Are they going to have a "fast" huntable attack speed, like the Egyptian, Roman, and Greek villagers, in which nearly no time is spent attacking huntables? Or a slower attack speed like the remaining 4 civs, in which a moderate amount of time is spent...

"Featured Quests", planned feature by PF2K(?)

I believe that this feature, along with other features on PF2K's portfolio, are on a "to-do" list that has India at the front. It will indeed be an excellent feature when it's finally implemented for sure. As for currently, just socialize on the discord and see if you can find partners there...

Indian Dev Blog #7: Age 1 and 2 Town Center, Villagers, Bowman & Ranger Gear Progression, and more!

Will India have any technologies specific to them that affects Villagers, similar to Roman's SPQR, Celt's Call to Arms, or Babylon's Resourcefulness?

    Is Caravan spamming degenerate?

That would significantly impact the value of nannus, and depending on the number of markets allowed, slow down the whole caravan spamming. Of course, it also has an impact on harder quests in which the quicker you can get the eco running, the better off you are overall. Decent idea I think...

Ice King's Stronghold not giving any quest(s) after the winter event

I currently see all quests on it. Keep in mind that you have to have enough space for the quest giver to spawn at it - If you are putting it in a really tight area the quest giver may not be able to spawn. Move the stronghold to an open spot first. The quest giver will be a little Yeti.

Behind the BANG! - Bugs, Bugs and Even More Bugs!

Dang, I really liked abusing the cliff bug to get units into areas they normally shouldn't have been. Ah well.

Prices for common materials are too high in Tarsos

The amounts of uncommon/rare goods you need generally either aren't that high - Consumables, buildings, ect only require very low amounts of them. This was also reflected in the original stack sizes - You could buy a stack of rare materials with 25 clicks. You needed 50, and now 75 clicks to...

Some random bugs I've discovered recently.

Actually Rome has controllable units too! 3 of them in fact. You can't move them anywhere near as far as Rudolph though sadly :(

Developer Update 2021/02/04 (New PvP/Skirmish Maps, Extra Region Travel Shortcuts, UI Improvements)

With the eventual skirmish rework, another vanity item for winning a match on all the Celeste maps would be sweet!

    Is Caravan spamming degenerate?

First: The most complicated PvE quests can take over an hour - Unless you are exceptionally experienced, VoK takes time, as does a few other quests. Second: Please actually read my post, rather then only looking at the title. My suggestion is to change Caravans giving players "super" caravans...

    Is Caravan spamming degenerate?

This is not a suggestion to remove caravans. Nor is it a suggestion to nerf caravans to the ground. It's a suggestion to change the value of each individual caravan so to reduce the current "spam 120 caravans in 120 seconds" meta that we have going on.

    PVE - Gear/Advisor Idea

As for advisor units - They tend to suck at later lvls, and are generally good in the early lvls. Headhunter Champions, for instance, are better then Horsemen until you get a significant amount of gear, and all 4 civs with advisor units have at least 1 such unit that's stronger then anything...

    PVE - Gear/Advisor Idea

Making units into elite units is a 2.2x boost to both damage and health. The only advisor that buffs units by a similar amount is Vemundr, where you boost War Dogs (Which have the lowest HP in the game), by 300% - A large boost, but overall balanced. The power of elite units is why Converting...
