Make all schools selectable so players don't need to juggle civs to see what blueprints they have, and what pieces of crafteable gear would benefit them most

Are you suggesting having all schools available in each civ? Like 10 schools in each?

Sure, why not? Original game was limited to 1 and you couldn't swap items around civs, at least without paying a pretty penny

Now players I'd say are even encouraged to use all civilizations as 1, having 1 civ where you can keep track of what recipees you have easier, and craft easier would just be QoL at this point

I don't mind the idea of being able to have everything on one civ and lift crafting hall limits entirely if it means you can't get extra workshops and can work in a system that still uses as many recipes for full setups. Still have the same number of workshops of both types in total across all civs (8/2 per civ), but make it an account wide rather than civ specific total for the workshops. That way people can have a civ city dedicated purely to everything crafting or, one to all workshops+ one for crafts, set themselves with a crafting quarter in all home cities, etc. In order to not ruin demand for mat recipes, just require players to double up on the same recipe on that civ for going over old crafting limits for that mat each time? I can imagine this would be a huge technical deal.

TBH, I wouldn’t like the idea of having all schools on one civ. I understand that it’s difficult to know what recipes are where sometimes and what crafting recipes we already have acquired, especially when a recipe is for sale in Trade or on the GM.

With that in mind, I would much prefer to see a new building in every civ, say a “Forge” or similar, so that we could visit it to show what civs have what crafting schools and their relevant recipes, a drop down list type scenario and possibly even recipes we do not have currently could be shown as grayed out.

I like the idea of having to visit each civ to do my crafting. Plus, it would be an extra building for any City lovers, even for civs without crafting halls or schools.

It is enough if the Devs rework the UI of the Crafting Hall. Put all the recipes into the right side of the window. Instead of the gear slots we will see the possible recipes directly.

Yes totally agree and had thought of that, but I would still prefer a new building and a "Forge" sounds great, I'm one of those Home city lovers and any chance of new buildings is welcomed :)

True, thats a really nice workaround so that people know what's where, but don't have to have everything in the one place, nor a note/excel sheet/etc just to track it.

Sorry guys, but as I have written miles of code I would not support anything that deflects from Roman Civ
I haven't seen the code, but the ideas sounds like a major change , not just flipping a few tables . The second reason is as an old school strat playr it's part of your strategy . Also you get the "Vault" and 15 EP every day ....
This is a small team , bringing amazing content ... OK you may have to log in and out , use the vault, email shit to yourself
there appears to me to be nothing you cannot work around manually ,
So great ideas here but post Roman Civ .....

Yeah defo man, any bigger change to the game than PF2K and Recon whipping up some pvp maps can wait til late 2020, but I spose it's never too early to weed out the less-longterm-friendly and man-hour-heavy fixes the team can take. I really think Alzerus' suggestion is better than my own because it does keep the essence of the civs being unique and specialised, but also prevent the player needing to leave the game to look at a spreadsheet to manage their own home cities.

The idea of the forge is great and sometime in the future it would be fantastic if some other Empire Management type screens could be added.

    eg screens showing:-
Craft Schools & Recipes - What you've got & not got (as suggested with forge building)
Civ. levels & XP needed to reach next level
Material Workshops - What you have - current status and the material recipes learnt
Quest status - What's completed & when repeatable quests next become available
eg. One place to see if / when Marion is available on all your civs. < I'd really love this :)
Gear scores by civ , number of empty gear slots etc.

    Another idea I've always had:-
True Age of Empires play rather than "Age of One civ at a time"
Wouldn't it be totally awesome if you could take 2 civs to a quest or PvP match?
    Consider this:
Many quests are already OK for 2 civs / 400 pop humans v AI as they are designed for coop play.
Difference here is 1 player attempts to control 2 civs / 400 pop rather than 2 players.
Just imagine... you're controlling gastras & war ellies in the same game at the same time :p:p

But hey, our guys are doing a fantastic job as it is, Romans must come 1st and these are just pie in the sky ideas for the future.

Absolutely agree, have a few other suggestions but will not even attempt promoting these suggestions until after the Romans have arrived and I know a few others that are in the same frame of mind. I already find it quite incredible that they have time to implement other stuff and new quests etc and still work on the Romans, hats off to them all. But no harm in responding to others or adding as we go along...

After so long, you just come to remember (example) that Infantry and Archery is in Greek, Cavalry And Religion is in Egypt... then just transfer appropriate recipes to appropriate civs.

I invested a lot of EP in my vault, I use emails to myself and find my log in / out is really now mostly for trying quest tactics with different civs .... but then I generate a lot of EP with elite easies .... the old favourites give me a lot of EP , as each map is slightly different I never get the feel Im grinding. Also try messing with yr gear to make elites a bit harder LoL
