Hello there Celeste players! The Winter Event is finally upon us.

Once you update your game, go to your Empire Store in your Capital City and find all the new quests for the event. Alternatively, you can access the Event content by going to Sparta. More detailed instructions below.

You can find every detail regarding what's new in the event in the attached graphics! We hope that you all have lots of fun playing with friends during the event. :)

So let's break down the details of the event in a question-based list:

In Sparta, from the Abominable Snowman next to the Statue of Dionysus.

Note: When you accept the quest, you need to go to the Fortress of the Ice King, complete the "The Ice King Cometh!" quest, and then head back to Sparta to find the new event PvP quests from the Abominable Snowman Questgiver in Sparta.

==

5. Can I get every event Item playing only PvP or only PvE?
Yes! Everything is obtainable by playing either mode.

(PF2K's Personal Note: Play PvP guys. PvP mode best mode!!!)

==

6. What are Winter Points, what can I get with them and where do I spend them?
Winter Points are the special currency of the Winter Event. You can use them to buy Vanity Gear, Capital City Decoration, Consumables, in addition to two of last year's Event Exclusive Gears all in the new Region's Store, Gingerbread Goodies.

==========
The first three gear pieces crafted will cost one heart and have no cooldown between crafts; Then the next piece will cost two hearts and have no cooldown. After that, each piece will cost three hearts and there will be a 36 hour cooldown between each craft. These timers are tracked separately for each civilization.

7. What are the Global Quests?

They are quests that can be done in any game mode and inside any quest. They include, but are not limited to, the following types of quests:
  • Play Repeatable, Elite or Legendary Quests
  • Play Co-op Quests with your friends
  • Train, Kill and Convert enemy units in Ranked PvP matches.
  • Defeat special treasure guardians (Abominable Snowmen)

8. How long will the event last?

The Event is planned to last until 2021/02/01 00:00 UTC (February 1st). There has been a timer added to the sidebar on the Forums with a countdown, indicating how long you will have to play the Winter Event.

==

9. What else is new?

As with previous Events in 2020, we have now added an Archives Building specific to the Winter Event: The Ice King's Stronghold. Just like the Library of Horus and Prison of Zahhak, this building will allow you to play the Event's previous years' Quests after the Event is over.

and more timing quest :(don't get me wrong great job on the event but I play solo most of the time and those timing quest are not fun at all.why putting a timer on it, I mean does it matter if someone play the quest in 40m or 2h ???nothing more frustrating than losing a 1h quest with a time off 1h.5m,for me it does not incite me to start over again and lose another hour.

Why do I get the feeling that in future years, we might see a primus pilus and his lion-chariot get dressed up as Santa and his reindeer-sleigh for a winter boss?

I can see it now, the sleigh being destroyed and Santa furiously beating people up in the last stand animation...

This post says every gear cost 1 Ice King Heart, but ingame it says x3. Seems as the later is pretty much, I have to do about 5 Legendarys to get just one heart - I think what this post says should be the correct amount.

I believe, but do not know, that the price of gear increases from 1 up to 3 hearts as you craft more and more in your city. This is the same as if as last year. However, it appears that for anyone who crafted gear last year, the game is counting those you crafted last year in determining the price. Therefore for me, everything this year already costs 3 hearts. For a new player though it costs just one heart. This was not my expectation of what we decided for the pricing, but it could have been PF2K’s (or if could be a mistake). Regardless, I wanted gear to be more expensive anyway, so I don’t really care. Meanwhile, PF2K is afk and back home with his family for about 12 days. So even if we wanted to change it, I don’t think we will. Since we all face the same deal, it doesn’t change anything really. Besides, the entire event is for fun. With more expensive ingredient prices, fewer items will be crafted and they will be more lucrative to sell.

Besides you all just got through telling us that the gear wasn’t that good. Now I’m hearing people are mad because they can’t get enough of it.

Yeah, I really don’t like timed quests, but they make sense in the context of redoing older quests. The Winter Event it my favorite, I’m glad to see it back. What items are going away after this one?

Those timers are for the optionals, if you fail those you can still complete the quest.
Only on Marion the quest will fail but i wanted to keep it as close to the origional as possible :)
Not only marion but all the timed quest don't make any sense to me , I mean it's my time ,if i want to spend 2h on a 30m quest so be it ;) I prefer to do so than losing it all.

I think it's due to Legendary quest has chance of giving really good rewards, so it needs to be a challange.

But to be honest I prefere when time is an optional quest, either in part (usally most fun, I mean when it's just a smaller objective that needs to be done in time) or in full (all objectives in time).
