Sub 8 should be possible if you don't play as shit as I did.
Villagers used Zahhak Amulet so they can repair siege towers longer. If you feel confident bringing a priestess you can drop amulet for Nebu Wine.
Rams used Solstice/Tryphons/Delian. A high rolled Khnum might be better.
Camels used Piercing Frost/Ra's Gem Studded/Ishtar Gloves. Ra's Gem Studded because boss does melee-INF damage.
I struggled keeping my eco topped off. Probably would have helped if I had the cheaper houses milestone selected and I didn't overbuild houses when I didn't need them.
