Cataphract is a really cool unit but in pve he ends up with 3 pop cost and 80 Damage. He is huge vs infantry but compared to champs, zerks and especially immortals, he is outclassed.

The Legendary Advisor should have -1 pop cost / +20% damage / Bonus damage vs buildings.

I think Pharos already suggested this but i could not find the post.

Would be an interesting discussion about it.

Cataphracts already have a Age 4 advisor thats solid. I do not want a repeat of King Brennos and Warlord Vercingetorix, where King Brennos is basically Epic Verc, but with a raw +.8 movement speed and snare immunity. Instead, Grandmaster Garshaps should be buffed.
 
Cataphract aren't that great on paper, although somehow using them in leg quests tends to work. In my experience they aren't persia's best option, but with good gear they perform kinda better than what you'd expect. A slight buff to Grandmaster Garshasp might be warranted, but nothing too big. Maybe a little bit of cost reduction or a slight speed boost alongside the damage buff could be enough.
 
I think persian cavalry is really fun and best used in groups of specialists units rather than a mass of all the same units for all the jobs like most other civs. I would prefer an inclusion of cataphracts in rostam for a small buff instead of takabaras. It would encourage the multiple specialist units even more instead of single do-all unit.
I already splash cataphracts along asabaras and mounted archers when I play Rostam and I find them pretty good at their job.
 
the cataphract is already a powerful unit and I do not think it needs an advisor who will strengthen it or at least reduce its population, you will probably have badly set your gears and milestones. my catrafati arrive at 130 dps
 
I agree my set up wasn't the best! He hast 130 Damage! But agree into a buff for Grandmaster Garshasp for speed or snare immunity. I would like to have an legendary version though!
 
Adding in 8-20% more movement speed as well as 4-10% more health to Garshasp would be enough honestly.
 
Even a simple "+20% Damage, -15% Training Time" would make them a lot more appealing. Again, i don't think they deserve a huge buff, but a little extra might be what they need to see more play.
Edit: Rohham already gives training time reduction, so training time reduction might be redundant. I'd switch it with +5/8% speed or -15% cost. After all, there's already a precedent for an advisor that boosts damage and reduces cost (Sekhet's for elephant archer).

We already have 3 legendary advisors for Persian (Rostam, Esfandiyar, Xerxes), so if we want to make legendary advisor for cataphract, we need to make one of the current 3 leg advisors into either be cut or move down to epic. But I don't think that won't happen, so I assume that buffing Grandmaster Garshaps will be ideal for now.

However, I think making advisor for epyptian's camel rider should be made first :)
