Hey guys,

We can now announce v3.3.1 of the Celeste Launcher which can be downloaded HERE!

The biggest change in this version is that the launcher will no longer ask for administrator rights when you start it.

If you have installed the game through the retail installer and have the game located on "C:\Program Files (x86)\Age of Empires Online\", you must create a folder in "My Documents" where you extract the launcher and start it.

Note that people with launchers older than v3.2.1 must update manually and cannot do so due to a bug in the launcher which was fixed in v3.2.1. If you are on a version older than v3.2.1, extract the contents of the zip-archive to where the launcher is located on your system to update. If you are launching the game through Steam, remember to convert the game launcher to a Steam game before starting the launcher from steam.

Changelog:
  • The launcher will no longer start as administrator, and will ask for admin rights when needed
  • The "Play" button will be disabled until the game (Spartan.exe) is closed
  • Network security fixes (use system-default settings)
  • Fixed a bug with the password context menu being badly styled.
===========
This was changed in previous unannounced releases:

v3.2.1:
  • Fixed an issue with zip extraction that broke the updater
===========
v3.2.0:
  • Internationalized server messages
  • Fast download option has been removed as it is no longer needed
  • Minor fixes
===========

For details regarding each change, see the release page on GitHub.

Nice, just to let you know that browsner security is complaining about file being unsafe.
"This file is not commonly downloaded and may be dangerous."

I am on version 3.2.1.0
Do I have to update?
Can you give us an instruction how to safely move to a new launcher? Thank you

This is because you are downloading a zip-file that contains a program. Once enough people downloads it, this warning will disappear.

You don't have to update, nobody is forcing you, but I would highly recommend that you do because of the security changes that we are significantly improving with this version.
To upgrade to the new version, you drag and drop the contents of the zip-archive into where your old launcher is located.

Ok, so I did move all the files from the archive to the folder with the game overwriting the existing files, but now the launcher wont me Log In, am I doing something wrong?

Don't t forget to manually rescan
- select browse button to point to game files.
on my computer, it is :
...\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Age Of Empires Online.
May differ from yours.

Thanx to a guy from a discord channel. Everything is working fine now, but the launcher wont let me play the game until I run it with administrator rights. What I mean to say is that even with the latest launcher, you still have to launch the game as Administrator.
You need to look into this problem

+1

This is actually a *more secure* version of the launcher because it doesn't need admin permissions for most functions (some of the helpers, like fixing the windows firewall, will always have to use admin).
