I did some quick math today to figure out what my income was from producing stuff in my workshops selling excess materials to the marketplace
The quick conclusion is: Leave your workshops producing whatever highest recipee you have available and buy the rest in Tarsos (close to Bahram's lottery) or in the marketplace.
In normal workshops producing uncommons instead of commons gives you 30% more g per day, rares 40% more g than uncommons, epics 40% on top.
Producing less common recipees will also mean that you have to check less frequently your civilization's workshops and might lose less resources for downtime. Uncommon recipees for basic workshops are available in Mycenae for the Greek civilization - any other recipees you have to find, or buy on the global marketplace.
Bahram Shop Prices:
Common (1000): 750
Uncommon (500): 1000

From advanced workshops: Uncommon (500): 1500
Marketplace Epic (100): 5000-8000
Marketplace Advanced Rare (250): Low Supply 3000-7000
Marketplace Advanced Epic (100): 19000-33000

Sale prices and income - selling to Market (market cut is approximate but taken into account) - My Normal Workshops
The first number in parenthesis is stack size, then npc and market prices, which goes to how much gold you can make per item, and how many items you can make per workshop per day
Common (1000): Prices 100/660 = 0.66g per item x 0 workshops x 4 items/h = 0g/day (for comparison 8 workshops would be 506g/day)
Uncommon (500): Prices 100/900 = 1.8 per item x 8 workshops 2 items/h = 691.2g/day
Rare (250): Prices 200/2700 = 10.8 per item x 8 workshops 1/2 items/h = 1036.8g/day
Epic (100): Prices 240/4500 = 45 per item x 32 workshops x 1/6 items/h = 5760g/day (for comparison 8 workshops = 1440g)
------------------------------------------
Advanced Workshops
Advanced uncommon (500): Prices 150/1300 = 2.6 per item x 0 workshops x 2 items/h = 0 ( 2 workshops would be 250g per day)
Advanced Rare (250): Prices 300/4500 (low supply, might not find items in a pinch) = 15g per item x 0 workshops x 1/2 items/h (2 workshops would be 360g/day) > To compare to epic income stacks should sell on the market for 13-15k
Advanced Epic (100): Prices 360/18000 = 180g per item x 12 workshops x 1/6items/h = 8640g/day (1440g if it were 2)
My Total= 15942g per day
