TL;DR: The server will remain offline until tomorrow evening for us to move to a new infrastructure.
This evening we attempted to roll out a patch with text modifications and quest adjustments after the winter event. As part of this we also install Windows Update. This is something we do on a regular basis and have very good routines of doing. Unfortunately, the Windows Update got corrupt and is now preventing the server from restarting. We have spent 4+ hours trying to recover the faulty Windows Update, but the server is still refusing to come back online. We have played our last cards and we are not able to get any further in this. Therefore, we have to move the AOEO Server to a new server, and this will take some time. I want to be clear that no player data or any data has been lost, we still have access to all the files on the server, but the system does not come online because of the broken Windows Update.
