Is it ever worth crafting to sell to vendors?

Once you have progressed through the game and get to Lvl 40, it's almost inevitable that you'll have extra stock of lower level Materials sitting around in warehouses. Then you have to decide whether to slowly sell those materials via the Global Marketplace, or maybe craft some items from recipes to sell to vendors.

For example:
"Ornate Balanced Spear" - uses only Common crafting materials
30 Pine Planks
20 Copper Ingots
10 Grain
= 60 total Materials

Sell to vendor = 60 coins
Vendor Value = 1 coin per common material

This value is less than the value of those materials on the Global Marketplace, so obviously this recipe is not something you would want to use to make coins, but I'm wondering if there are other recipes that give a better value than the GM.

tl;dr;
Obviously I'm not looking for a detailed breakdown for every possible item, just curious if it's already well known among the player community whether certain recipes are the best for generating vendor money, and more to the point do any of those recipes generate more coins than just selling the materials on the Global Marketplace?

It is possible to make good coin, actually a lot, from a few low level rare gear items; which are not that difficult to get from recipes because they are not that really valuable. So the short answer is yes.

The more complex answer is selling on the gm can work because a fair number of players are now only matting epic to make legendary gear for themselves or to sell. Though actually buying common or rare mats on gm is more expensive by a mile than taking a minute to click a stack from the general store etc.Still for many a 1000 pine on the gm is only one click.

Mats for ep through Carthage etc has lost some appeal with no current reason to save ep for the weekly legendary offering [ endless waiting for gauntlets ] . However mats changed to ep gives access to consumables which may aid doing leg quests which may drop leg gear.[% chance is reasonable]

If you are crafting mats but not making leg gear-there is obviously good but slower coin to be made in selling epic mats. An investment in a leg recipe will return good profit from the medium term.

Okay here are the four recipes that are apparently most profitable in the game to just vend if you craft the uncommon mats yourself . These mats churn out reasonably quick and you can have a number of workshops making the mats. The catch is the recipes but they are around and not bank breakers if you need to buy them.

These items all use uncommon mats to make rare gear which vend for 120 coins each
Obsidian inlaid belts [inf] lvl 18
jewelled staff [rel] lvl 18
silver pointed arrows [arch] 18
custom fitted horse armour [cav] 20

Craft and vend, craft and vend - the game is full of ways to make coin- this being only one of many - probably not the quickest- but neither is cashing in mats for ep at Carthage etc the quickest way to get ep -but it does slowly build ep . So I'm not suggesting the above mats vend option by itself is the only way to make coin- but hey if you have spare mats and have no use for them -this is one option to add extra coin to your hoard
