Horatius at the bridge

I don't get this quest (Roman). Are you supposed to stand at the bridge or zerg rush into the base? Because there seems to be unending waves of enemies. How did you guys complete it, any tactics?

See the markers in front of the 2 castellums and the auxilia camp right at your start before you even cross the bridge? Send Horatius right to one of them, and leave him there for a bit, and you should get legionaries or balearic slingers spawning depending on which marker you're on. The second set of buildings of yours will do the same thing as well, so it's a good idea to move Horatius up once your army has cleared the first base.
