SOLVED Game Initialization failed.

Hi,

I have installed AEO and the Celeste GUI. Ran the game scanner and Updated the game.
But when I try launch the game from Celeste Launcher. I get an error message saying "Game Initialization failed. Please do a full scan in the launcher and try again (CORE)" Even tho I have run the Scan 3 Times.

Has anyone had this issue or knows how to fix it?

Hi! To fix the (CORE) initialization issue; refer to my video here and install DirectPlay from the links in the description.

If you get further errors, try the other 3 troubleshooting links from the description. Another good tip, is to watch that video and make sure you installed it correctly.

Has anyone figured out how to open it with Steam Instead of the Celeste GUI?

Well, since steam opens the wrong exe file, you must not use it directly. Instead, you can hide the original game from your library, and click "add a non-steam game" and choose the celeste launcher as the 'game'. That would work.
