Developer Update 2021/07/09 (Advisor Loadouts, Indian Dev Blog #1 Teaser and more!)

Hello there Celeste players! We are back with another Developer Blog. This time, we will be showing you some of the things that we are adding to the game in this patch, alongside a quick sneak peek at the upcoming Indian Civilization Developer Blog #1.

So without any further ado, let's get started, shall we?

Advisor Loadouts
=================

​

Advisors provide fun combinations for players to use whilst playing Quests. You can have one active Advisor per Age, for a total of 4. More often than not, Advisors offer synergies between themselves across Ages, so players tend to have specific Advisor combinations that prefer to play with.

However, switching between sets of Advisors can sometimes be cumbersome and time-consuming. To ease switching between multiple Advisors at once, we have added the ability to save up to 5 sets of Advisors that you can instantly switch between, by pressing a single button.

Advisor Card Overlays

Not all the Advisors in the game were here before! We have added a ton of new Advisors in Project Celeste, but until now, there wasn't a way to tell which Advisors were part of the Classic set and which ones were not. But now, you can identify Celeste Advisors from their Advisor Card Overlay. Check the picture above for more details.

Sparta Ranked Match Coin Reward
================================

Our most recent changes to Sparta rewards have been fairly successful, but playing PvP is still not as time-efficient as playing Quests in terms of Coin rewards, so we are increasing the Coin rewards for playing Sparta matches.

We are a small community and we are all here to have fun. Please do not ruin the gameplay experience of other players by going AFK in Sparta games, or by doing matchfixing and other abusive behavior. Thank you for helping us keep the Sparta Ladder a fun experience for everyone.

If you see anyone going AFK in Sparta or showing any kind of abusive behavior, please report them to one of our moderators at our Discord Server.

We monitor Sparta activity very closely and will deal with exploiters promptly.

Indian Civilization Dev Blog #1 Teaser!

Goosebumps with this addition, really nice QOL improvement !!

 

Wow awesome! Now we just need a swap for player colours and and loadouts for equipment and vanity would be really cool as well. A skirmish mode revamp would also be awesome. AI behaves really badly making 80 villagers and ton of siege late game. Just does'nt feel right. Also PVP with AI, basically skirmish with PVP, would be a great addition as well.

Looking forward to any updates tho and cant wait for anything you bring up. Awesome job guys and keep going!

The Ottomans are an amazing civ, and their cannons were nuts. Unfortunately, they don't fit into the era of our game, so we haven't considered them.

I wholeheartedly agree. I know nothing of how difficult it would be, but I certainly hope we see it someday.

In the original game, there were always a list of things being asked for (like auction house funcionality) that have pretty much all been added in Celeste, the ability to choose player colours for PvE somehow would be the icing on the cake.

 

It would be great if you added the carthaginians as a new civilization. in the city of Carthage in game has almost all the architecture already made. It would only be necessary to give shape to the other buildings. Hopefully it's considerate

And units, and the civ design itself so it isn't just a copy/paste of other civs. Let's not forget the voice lines and animations for every single unit. Techs, Milestones..

Now, additional Carthagian/Delian/Imhotep capital buildings, sure, cool. Could come with the eventual Alliance War Rework.

But a full civ? Best to just work on 1 at a time.

I’d love if we made the Carthaginians. There’s lots of great civs we could make. It takes us about 1-2 years to make a civ, so we need to be extremely choosy.

 

...the Indians are coming...

 

The advisor load out is awesome. Only thing I would want on top of it would be milestone loadout.
