Which civilasiton beside greek and norse you would advice for me to start with? Especially for late game PvE quests.

I already fully geared and played greek and norse when the game was out years ago. And I really want to experience a new civilisation but I couldn’t warm any of them yet and didn’t find reliable units like greek archers and balistas. Please enlighten my rusty mind who forgot everything about civs.

Babylonian for their lategame economy, seige towers and maxed out armies with lots of priests and shield bearers (cheap and good tanks against archers and static D). Sappers are also good for being able to clear out enemy structures for only low population amounts while you fight elsewhere on the map.

What about Celts? Are they particularly good for anything?

Since their PvE buffs Celts are good, prior to them they were easily the worst civ though. 2nd on Egypt for the war elephants, without the ai or a player only fielding counters they're really hard to stop, and unlike PvP you're gonna be free to get the economy to mass and keep building them.

Any civ is good for pve, only celtics a bit underpowered.

One point that i want to add here is;
To play with priests:
  • Advisor Mehrab
  • New stab +40% range
Age3 mehrab age4 timo, with that combo, u can easyly done any leg quest.

And to answer ur question as 3rd civ:
Persia / eggy
Greetz.

Sorry didn’t quite get your point, so what u are saying is use priests with mehrab and siege units with timo to finish legendaries. When I was playing the game basic tactic was using archers with catapults/balistas and moving slowly to objective. Is it realy possible convert elite units reliably if so how many would be enough for a quest like marion or soloi.

I chose babylonians and my friend is playing greek atm. We are not 40 yet but my plan was supppot his balistas with either chariot archer or bowman along with palintenons.

We might just go full priest with palintenons as an alternative if u are right.

Hi m8,

What A1 and A2 advisors do you typically use rtsgamer?

I use most of the part Irene for age1, sometimes also philon.
And age2; dumnorix.
  • It depends on quest and strategy which advisor to use.

The point i wanted to say is:
We all know that new stuff like advisor or new items involved in the game.

Means we re able to quick run into any leg quest with that stuff.

As an example if u re in coop:
P1 goes for priest+palis
P2 goes for full dmg combo
  • And btw. that strategy exercising already a lot players. (Athens sardes leg ;))

Quests like marion can be also easyly done solo. Some tank units on the front, priest behind; convert the balistas on your way and gg.

hf & gl / greetz.

If you are comfortable with Greek, I would go Persia. Their Bowmen are grand. With the new advisors, the seige towere are, same with the immortals. Cavalry is awesome.

So Irene or Philon, not Agatheon? Ever use Kleitos, Muighmedon or Village Elder over Dumnorix as your A2?

Also, whats your opinion on increased cost, increased stats accessory slot items VS reduced cost increased train time?

Ok, thanks fellas!! I fell into the trap of using Agatheon and Elder for quick booming. Looks like Irene + Dumnorix is the way to go for a1/a2 unless I'm playing skirmish! Any other A3 or A4 advisors you recommend if it's not the kind of map you can play around timo's palintonons or mehrab's priests?
