I had misunderstood the effects of starting on lev 40 since I thought that all questlines that demand you do Legendary quests will still be able to do and get the item reward from (Like the "Finnbar bow", "Devi's Royal Silken Tunic", "Great Walls of Socrates", "Zobolian Training Manual"...

Hmmm ... I think it's more fair when old event-items get buffed that you get event materials from them, then you can at least remake some of the dismantled items. Now it's more like all the old items get nerfed and you want to upgrade them, but you can't do that without doing alot of extra...

Well - the "start at lev 40" is litterary the same as giving 60M (roughly) skill points, so there is no difference in that part. The only difference is that from creation going lev 40 you gain alot of epic items that you can use until you find better. Hence I don't see any argument for why not...
