Developer Update 2021/07/03 (Moe's Rework, Summer Event, Indians and More!)

Hello there Celeste players! We are back with another Developer Blog. This time, we will be showing you some of the things that have been added to the game with today's patch.

So without any further ado, let's get started, shall we?

Moe's Mystorium Rework
========================​

Back in the 2014, Moe's Mystorium used to be a prime source of getting very hard to obtain gear, such as Double Stitched Chiton, and more.

Over time, new items (mostly of Legendary rarity) were added to the game, that eventually pushed Moe's Mystorium out of popularity. We are trying to correct this, not only by moving the newer versions of some of the things that previously were found almost exclusively in Moe's (or otherwise extremely hard to find) back to Moe's and making them exclusive to it, but we are also adding a few more items. Check them out below:

Note that buying chests from Moe's DOES NOT GUARANTEE obtaining one of these items. You can find more information about this in the Store UI when selecting Moe's Mystorium.

Small Loot Table Adjustment
===========================​

As part of finetuning the loot drops in the game, we have reduced the drop rate of Advisors and Recipes slightly, and instead increased the drop rate for Gear. This is only our first step in this direction and we will be monitoring the impact it will have, and will adjust things further, when and if necessary.

Athens Region Rework (2.0)
==========================​

As the very first Celeste Exclusive Region, Athens is one of the most popular quest hubs in the game. However, we felt that the quality of the Region wasn't quite on par with the existing ones.

Thanks in great part to @coolblade23, we have revamped this Region. Check it out below:

Athens Quest Giver Locations
===========================​

One of the biggest challenges of making changes to existing content is to make sure that players don't struggle too much with getting used to them. For Regions, this is particularly important with quest giver locations. We have tried to maintain the locations of the 4 Quest Givers of Athens (Professor Socrates, Messenger of Aristagoras, Hoplite Leader and Trade Dock Foreman) as close to the original spot as possible:

PvP Code of Conduct Page
=======================​

As the most competitive aspect of Age of Empires Online, Sparta PvP is the one place where players gather to play 1v1 or 2v2 PvP games. As with all other games, there are sometimes other people who try to dampen the fun for everyone else. To make it easier to distinguish what is right and what is wrong, we have added a PvP Code of Conduct Page to the Sparta UI.

Feature Preview: Advisor Loadouts
===============================​

Advisors provide fun combinations for players to use whilst playing Quests. You can have one active Advisor per Age, for a total of 4. More often than not, Advisors offer synergies between themselves across Ages, so players tend to have specific Advisor combinations that prefer to play with.

However, switching between sets of Advisors can sometimes be cumbersome and time-consuming. To ease switching between multiple Advisors at once, we are adding the ability to save up to 5 sets of Advisors that you can instantly switch between, by pressing a single button.

We will have more details to show on its release (which is in the next patch, not this one), but as a quick sneak peek, have a look:

Update on the Indian Civilization + 2021 Summer Event

As you will see very soon, we have been hard at work with the Indian Civilization, and will have more news to share soon! In the meantime, have a look at Ashoka the Great, the leader of the Indian civilization. You will see him both as the Main Quest Giver of the Indian Capital City, and also as a Legendary Advisor, exclusive to the Indians.

2021 Summer Event
==================​

Presently, the 2021 Summer Event is planned to launch on July 26th, and last for 5 weeks.

It will include:

• New Quests
• New Gear
• PvP Quests
• and more!

We will have more information to share soon.

All current and future content will stay 100% free and accessible to everyone.

let's get broke round 2! So hyped!

 

I really like the 5x bookmarks for advisors - and can't but wonder if it's possible to also link them also to a bookmarked serie of Milestones, since they generally go hand in hand.

 

Again very nice updates !

 

Finally we will have the epic arrows with speed and the Toga with bonus on gathering wood, both in legendary versions. And the the advisor loadouts are so very useful too! Great work!
