I have read some posts already mentioning this, but I would like to place a little more emphasis on the fact that some low level gear sets are actually good looking!
When you level up, the looks from the gear becomes increasingly flashy and garish, which is reasonable, because it needs to match the awesomeness and the rarity of the superior gear you've obtained.
But for some players like me a more sober appearance is just better, so why not adding a way to customize your soldiers with the appearance from previous/lower level gear?
I'm not a heavy grinder, I rather prefer to enjoy every little moment of my play doing the "little things" like spending some time reading the "plot" behind a mission or organizing the aesthetics in my capital city, this is the reason that led me to post this.
