the patrol function is buggy and a bit uselesse now.

It would be interesting for engineers or villagers that they repair damaged buildings or participate in a construction during their patrol.

Likewise, it would be cool to have the patrolling care units healing the wounded on their way.
 
Smart idea but it seems like a lot of programming work for a small benefit. Not sure but i can patrol my military units and they attack if units come nearby. The scout and the ravens can also be set on patrol to gain LOS of an enemy getting started for an attack or gather on a gold mine. I always thought that's the function which patrol have to offer.
