The only way to eradicate the problem would be paying for a server and rewriting the coop and pvp games to run off it rather than off one of the clients/players, which would take a lot of developer time and probably mean more hosting costs. It doesn't matter how good your network or computer are if your ISP bleeds packets like no tomorrow btw

Speed and ping to your own ISP has very little to do with actual packet loss when connecting to things over the internet. Maybe tell your provider you're having problems with packet loss, if your network hardware is all newish and you're over cable.
