Immortals ranged crit.

I recently learned about the difference between melee crit and ranged crit on gear and went on trying some crit gear on immortals.
After a couple games zoomed in close looking at thousands of arrow shots, I never saw a ranged crit when using ranged crit gear (or melee crit gear either).

Is this something known, but not obvious from ingame available info just like area effects don't crit?
It could also be only the animation (kind of gust of wind) that doesn't show.

Anybody can confirm that?

 

Thanks, I will try and see one based on the target hit points change. Won't be as easy as seeing the animations.
