Hello there Celeste players!

Here is the detailed overview for the content of our latest Content Pack, Battle for Kalinga! This is by far the largest content update we've had since the Indians' launch last October, and we're very excited for you to try it out!

This content pack follows Ashoka during his famous conquest of Kalinga, and is set in our all-new Indian-themed environments. Beautiful battlefields, dangerous armies and fearsome Juggernauts await you in this content pack! The quests in this content pack have been carefully handcrafted to have all new and fun gameplay experiences for you.

​

In addition to a Questline Completion Reward Gear, we have added several new Legendary items into the Legendary Gear Loot Tables.

New Quests, Gear, Capital City Decorations
========================================

This content pack is meant for players of all skills, meaning that no matter what kind of quest you enjoy playing, there is something for you here.

​

Initially, players get access to a story-driven campaign of nine quests, after which they get access to the Repeatable, Elite and Legendary variants of these quests, as well as Global Quests that grant players additional rewards, including an exclusive Legendary item for the ones who finish the Legendary Global quest!

We have heard your feedback regarding Legendary Quests' difficulty and we are happy to announce that all of the main Quests in this content pack are 4-star or easier, with the majority of the quests being 2-star or 3 stars. (Those who prefer a challenge, keep on reading!) Here's a sneak peek into a few of these quests below.

Three Additional Five-Star Legendary Quests
========================================

Once you finish the Legendary Questline for the first time, if you are still looking for an even bigger challenge, you will have access to three additional Legendary Quests, which are all five-star and are some of the most challenging Quests you will ever play!

One of these Quests also features our first ever Building Boss (or two, technically!):

Built from the strongest Stone and being a near impenetrable line of defense for the Kalingans, the twin Fortresses Agnyadurg and Vishnadurg stand in your way in this five-star Legendary Quest:

• Agnyadurg, the Fortress of Fire: Armed with deadly flaming arrows, Agnyadurg quickly burns any foes who dare to approach it to smoldering ashes while also increasing the damage of nearby allied forces that are there to defend it.
• Vishadurg, the Fortress of Poison: With poisonous arrows and a noxious aura, reducing the damage of nearby enemy units, Vishadurg guarantees a slow but painful death for anyone foolish enough to come close.

Capital City Decoration Reward: Hidden Monkeys!

After finishing the campaign and unlocking the Repeatable, Elite and Legendary quests, you will start running into several monkeys hidden throughout the quests. These monkeys do not show up on the map and are hidden away from plain sight.

Those who have eyes sharp enough to find all of these hidden monkeys, however, will be able to get themselves an exclusive capital city decoration - one of the monkeys! This quest is repeatable and you can get as many monkeys as you want (eventually)!

New Gear Added to the Loot Tables

In addition to the Questline Completion Reward Gear mentioned above, we have added five new Legendary items to the loot tables, meaning that they can now be found in any eligible treasure chest.

Note that several of these items have partly or completely new stat combinations. We are trying to open up more possibilities for additional gear, strategies and playstyles. This means that some of these combinations could potentially end up over-(or under-)performing, and while we've tried our best to make these items as balanced as possible, given our limited development capacity, there is always a chance that we would need to make adjustments to these items based on their performance and feedback from the community at large. This is not an attempt to power-creep existing gear, but rather an attempt to open up new possibilities.

One of the new items, Gajendraja's Sacred Blade, even comes with its own all-new gear effect! See below for more details.

New Gear Effect Type: Critical Hit Damage Bonus

While "Critical Hit Chance" has always existed in items, we are excited to showcase a new gear effect type: Critical Hit Damage Bonus! Read the graphic above for more information.

This is the first Critical Hit Damage Bonus item we've ever had, but it will not be the last one! We will be adding new items (and perhaps adjusting several existing items) going forward to use this effect more in the future, depending on player feedback.

Before this patch, it was very difficult to tell what rarity an "unavailable" item has. We've reduced the intensity of this red overlay to make the difference between different item rarities more distinct. We also changed the text color indicating that you cannot equip an item on any of your units or buildings red for better readability.

​

Previously, there was no way for players to know about the unique Age Up mechanics of the Egyptians, Celts and Babylonians by looking at the tech tree. However with this change this information is displayed directly on the Tech Tree, available when hovering over the Age icons on the left side of the Tech Tree panel.

All current and future content will stay 100% free and accessible to everyone.
