    legendary quests are too difficult

On one hand, I strongly agree with you on the cleaner path of gearing, and have argued for it multiple times myself. On the other, the difference top of the line gear vs 2nd tier is very small, with a few exceptions. Even if everyone suddenly have the best gear, the population of people who can...

    legendary quests are too difficult

I take issue with this part. People incorrectly assume they need a good gauntlet or hammer to do legendaries, and this is one issue I see with some video guides. Newer players misunderstand video guides by picking up on the "good gear" part, and completely miss the "good macro" part, where as...

    Developer Update 2020/02/22

Typical software development. Things you think is hard ends up taking 5 minutes once you find the right API hook. Things that you think is easy ended up talking months since you have to do a huge refactoring.

    Missing population when playing helheim

You mean Elephant Archer champion? I trained both War Elephants and Elephant archers in that mission, I don't remember the timings on when I did what, so it's entirely possible.

    Missing population when playing helheim

I just came across the strangest bug in Legendary Helheim. For some reason, 36 population was somehow occupied by something that isn't elephant or caravans, or anything at all. As you can see from the screenshot I deleted absolutely everything and something is still taking up those pops.

    Updating gear for lvl 1-39

Having a closer look at the different stores, it seems like that a lot of the expensive stuff were in fact added by Celeste, as most items from MS are uncommon/rare and hence has significantly worse stats. Even their epics and useful rares are generally cheaper, with a few exceptions. While I...

    Developer Update 2020/02/22

Just wondering which quests are going to be touched? I have some candidate in mind, wondering whether the devs are thinking the same.

    Updating gear for lvl 1-39

Fundamentally, new players cannot really afford anything worth more than 1k gold. From my point of view (and that of many experienced players). It's not worth my time selling things for less than 1k gold. This fundamental fact won't change. If you make items desirable enough that they are worth...

    Updating gear for lvl 1-39

With the number of marketplace slots and the amount of gold a new player can pay for these items, sadly this is often not worth the time. Like, I would give them away freely if I don't have to spend my attention span to do it, but at least now it involves spamming the trade channel.

Greatly lower the price of pre-level 40 items from vendors

Due to the lack of secondary objectives, non-repeatable quests that players use to level up gives 200~300 gold. However, level 30 items from in-game shop easily cost 2000~3000. So, while these gears are usually an upgrade to what a new player would have at that point of the game, to gear up just...

    recipes in a new way

I will add this ancedote: When I was restarting a long time ago. I could find many upgrades pre-lvl 40 from in-game shops. I bought very few of them. Partly because I didn't really need it. Partly because they were way too expensive. If those vendors starting selling at 1/5th the price, that...

    recipes in a new way

It's not even gold sinks. The discrepancy between gold rewards for pre-40 and post-40 quests itself is enough to cause this problem from day 1. On top of which, new players would not know how to farm and abuse the market even if they should get that lucky drop. Like, if they have a Looking Glass...

    recipes in a new way

The market would either be cheap enough that it isn't worth it, or expansive enough that new players cannot afford it. The gold and EP gain on pre-40 non-repeatable quests are really bad. Let's face it, if all they can afford per piece is $200, would you waste market slots or trade channel spam...

    recipes in a new way

I don't understand how would making that lower level chests more rewarding actually help new players. Nowadays I vendor most lvl 40 epics. For good items, the prices will still be expensive. For bad ones, it will be vendored. Only fix I can see is more in game shops. Even then, the pre-40 gold...

    PvE Redesign-An-Advisor Contest!

I think the suggestions in this thread (including my own) reinforces the fact that Dumnorix is just so meta-warping that simply buffing other advisers aren't enough.

    PvE Redesign-An-Advisor Contest!

In-game name: achan1337 Suggested change: Stable units deal 50% bonus damage to buildings. Reason for this change: We already have one for infantry and one for ranged, but none for stable. Any advisor hoping to compete against Dumn-OP with either need to boost max pop strength, or be even more...

    Never see the norse anywhere?

Very much agree. My elephants deals 80 damage, my berserkers deals 150 for half the population. Both are area of effect. Sure they have 1/2 as much HP per pop compared to elephants, but they erase everything, including bosses, which elephants have trouble against. Just asking, are you building...

    Age 1 advisors

I think Philon's real benefit isn't resources, but rather for the times when you are population blocked and building a trust fund, or screwed up and need to panic build towers. Similarly, Zephyros's side benefit is that you can bring vills to the front line for forward buildings faster.

Legendary Walkthrough: Liberating the Lower Nile

This is my second follow up to my original guide, where I talked about the general requirements and strategy on doing a legendary quest. This guide is a specific application to a less popular quest Legendary: Liberating the Lower Nile. I picked this quest since you start at Age 2, and get...
